RORC Tlog Import Setup

RORC Tlog Importer: Configuring Additional Tlog Fields

Sep 30, 2026 · @Aaron

Overview

The standard RORC tlog format has 29 fields. If a customer's tlog has exactly 29 fields, you don't need to change anything. If it has more than 29, you have to add a RORCTlogFields entry to that customer's ClientConfiguration table so the importer can map the extra fields.

Optional fields

Fields 30 through 41 are optional. They are always mapped in this order:

Procedure
  1. Find the customer's tlog. On the Prod FTP server, go to E:\ftproot\archive\Done\<DBName>\rorc-tlogs\
  2. Count the fields. Open a tlog file and count the fields in one record. If it has 29 fields, you're done. If it has more than 29, go on to step 3.
  3. Copy the reference configuration. The Mercantile database on Prod has a fully populated entry covering all 41 fields. In Mercantile's ClientConfiguration table, copy row 378. Its ConfigurationKey is RORCTlogFields, and its ConfigurationValue lists fields 30–41.
  4. Add the entry for the customer. Paste the row into the customer's ClientConfiguration table. Then edit ConfigurationValue so it keeps only the fields the tlog actually has. For example, if the tlog has 33 fields, keep fields 30–33: TransactionCode,UnitCost,UnitDeal,CustomerInfo
  5. Save and process. Save your changes. You can now process the customer's tlogs from D:\ftproot\<DBName>\rorc-tlogs\
